Garbage collection in Tsukuba City is divided up into 5 districts.
The type of garbage and the day of collection differ according to the district.
Please obey the rules and dispose of your garbage correctly.
Put your garbage out for collection by 8am on the day of collection.

How to put out
Use officially designated garbage bags.

Use transparent or semi-transparent bags. Empty and rinse.
Glass bottles

- Remove lids.
- Empty and rinse.
Spray Cans

How to put out
Use transparent or semi-transparent bags.
- Remove lids.
- Empty the cans completely.
- Puncture the cans somewhere safe with no chance of fire.
Plastic Bottles

- Remove lids and labels and throw them to "Plastic packages and containers".
- Empty and rinse.

Clean plastic packages or containers with PLA mark 「プラ」.
If you are doubtful, then discard to "Burnable garbage"

How to dispose of oversized garbage
- Measure the longest side of the item.
Items that are longer than 50cm on their longest side are oversized garbage.
Items that are longer than 2m or items that weigh more then 70kg cannot be collected. - Make a reservation with the Oversized Garbage Collection Center

You can bring large amounts of garbage, oversized garbage, and electrical appliances directly to Sustaina Square (Clean Center) by car. Please separate garbage by type. If you bring garbage to Sustaina Square yourself, you need to pay ¥130 per 10kg for the waste disposal fee. If you bring it yourself, you do not need to purchase a ticket for disposing oversized garbage.
