お盆に向けて感染予防対策についての市長コメント（2022年8月10日）

市民の皆様におかれましては、日頃より新型コロナウイルスの感染防止対策にご理解とご協力をいただき、心より御礼を申し上げます。

新型コロナウイルスのオミクロン株の亜型であるBA5による第7波は、これまでの感染の勢いをはるかに上回るスピードで、全国的に急拡大しています。つくば市においても8月5日には感染者数が、これまでで最多となる540人を記録するなど、感染の急拡大が続いています。

第7波の感染急拡大に伴い、茨城県内でも医療従事者の感染などにより、発熱外来や救急医療が非常にひっ迫しています。市民の皆様におかれましては、限りある医療資源を有効に活用し、真に必要とする方に医療を届けるために、適切な医療機関の受診や救急要請（119番通報）へのご理解とご協力をお願いいたします。

これからお盆を迎え、人と会う機会が多くなる時期を迎えますので、改めまして、基本的な感染対策である「手洗い」や「こまめな換気」、「場面に応じた適切なマスクの着用」等を引き続き行っていただくとともに、新型コロナウイルス感染症には、誰もが感染する可能性があることから、自宅療養に備えた食料品や日用品、市販の解熱剤等の備蓄へのご理解とご協力を併せてお願いいたします。

Mayor’s comment regarding infection prevention measures before the Obon Holidays (August 10, 2022)

I would like to thank you all for your understanding and cooperation in preventing the spread of COVID19.

The seventh wave of infection caused by the Omicron subvariant known as BA5 is spreading rapidly across the country at a speed never seen before.

The cases also continue to surge in Tsukuba with the number of people infected reaching a record high of 540 on August 5.

Due to the rapid spread of the seventh wave, the number of infections among healthcare workers in Ibaraki Prefecture has also increased, putting strains on hospitals for outpatient care and hospitals for emergency services. To ensure limited medical resources are used efficiently and to deliver medical services to those who are in need, I ask for your kind understanding and cooperation in using medical care and emergency services (calling #119) appropriately.

As we head into the Obon holiday period, a time of year when we have more opportunities to see friends and families, I would like to remind you that you should continue to take basic preventative measures such as washing hands thoroughly, ventilating frequently and wearing a face mask where appropriate. Anyone can get the virus. I would also like to ask you to better prepare for quarantine at home by stockpiling supplies such as food, household items and fever reducers.
